Carbon offsetting with South Pole
In 2017, we were the first in the industry to automatically offset all of our rides, no opt-in or extra charge required. Now we’re working with South Pole to continue offsetting all our ride emissions going forward.
Our investments have gone toward projects focused on improving air quality and supporting generation of renewable energy. Blacklane has funded climate action by investing in high-quality, certified mitigation projects such as like Saint Nikola Wind Farm in Bulgaria, Klawock Heenya Improved Forestry in the US, Indus Delta Blue Carbon - 1 in Pakistan, Mooh methane reduction in Switzerland and Nanning Landfill Gas Power in China.
Embracing accountability with Cooper Parry
No one likes greenwashing. To make sure we — and you — have a clear view on what we’ve achieved and what we can develop further, we’re partnering with Cooper Parry to offer third-party verification of our carbon footprint and offset program and fill in any gaps.
Committing to net-zero with The Climate Pledge
We signed The Climate Pledge, an agreement to reach net-zero carbon by 2040, 10 years earlier than the goal of The Paris Agreement. This will mean that instead of offsetting our carbon emissions, we won’t emit any at all.

Participating in climate strikes
Being a part of the transportation industry means that our crew feels even more compelled to participate in direct action to demand changes from our governing bodies, and fight for what is right, together. That’s why many of our crew members have used their Blacklane Cares community days to come together as a team and participate in the yearly global climate strikes.
