Statement on Barcelona Taxi Strike

“In order to keep its guests and chauffeurs safe, Blacklane had to cancel hundreds of bookings for July 25th and 26th in Barcelona. We regret having to take these measures, as the complete cancellation of all ground transportation services in the city caused by the taxi strike will surely be harmful to the regional economy.
Unfortunately, we had no choice because previous strikes have shown that the safety of our customers and partners cannot be guaranteed. I would much more prefer if the taxi industry showed this kind of dedication when it comes to improving the level of service they provide. In the light of the upcoming challenges, this is clearly necessary and would ultimately benefit all the players in the market!”
