Blacklane Launches 7 Cities in Spain, France and Bahrain

You can now book Blacklane in seven new cities across three countries! They are:

  • Bahrain: Manama
  • France: Bordeaux, Lille and Strasbourg
  • Spain: Bilbao, Girona and San Sebastian
Bahrain

Manama is our third new Gulf city this year, following Kuwait City and Muscat. It’s the capital of Bahrain and its name means “the place of rest” or “the place of dreams.” Expats clearly agree, as last year the annual Expat Insider survey named Manama the world’s top city for expats.

France

The additions to France give us nine cities there, adding to Cannes, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Paris and Toulouse. Known for its wine, Bordeaux is full of history. The city has the highest number of preserved historical buildings of any city in France besides Paris. Lille is near the Belgian border and reflects the Flemish architectural styles of its neighbor. Strasbourg is the official seat of the European Parliament, making it the legislative and democratic capital of the European Union. Strasbourg sits in eastern France near the German border. Its historic city center, the Grande Île (Grand Island), was the first entire city center to receive the designation of a World Heritage site by UNESCO, in 1988.

Spain

We also serve nine total cities in Spain, including Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga, Marbella, Palma de Mallorca and Valencia. Bilbao sits in northern Spain on the Bay of Biscay. One of Bilbao’s signature buildings is the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, one of the most admired works of contemporary architecture. Girona, in the Catalonia region of Spain, is a popular excursion from Barcelona. Its original city wall dates to the first century BC. San Sebastian, like Bilbao, is along the Bay of Biscay. It is only 20 kilometers from the French border. The city is known for having the highest number of Michelin-starred restaurants per square kilometer in all of Europe.
