Why the Blacklane App is the Smart Way to Travel
The Blacklane app lets you arrange chauffeur rides for business and personal travel, from airport transfers to hourly bookings. This guide explains how to book for yourself or someone else, check pricing, add flight details and rebook a previous journey.
When you’re on the go, all you want is reliable car service that’s consistently high-quality everywhere you travel. It shouldn’t be a tall order, and thanks to our global chauffeur app it isn’t. In this piece, let’s explore why this app is the perfect addition to your travel toolkit.
What you can do in the Blacklane app
Book a ride at home or abroad
Use the Blacklane app to book a one-way journey, a return, or reserve a chauffeur by the hour. When travelling abroad, you can use the same app to arrange rides in more than 500 cities in 60 countries. With one app, you’ll have the same service in every city, with no need to research local car service providers.
Whether you’re in Boston, Basel, or Beijing, you’ll get the same top-quality service. Just touched down in a new city and not sure where to go? Your local chauffeur will be happy to give you recommendations you’re not going to find in the guidebook.
Book a ride for someone else
Effortlessly arrange rides for executives, clients, or family from your own account. Add the traveler's pickup and drop-off details, and any special notes to the booking. Trip updates are shared with the traveler, while you manage the booking and payment through your account. It’s an easy way to manage ground transportation for multiple travelers in different cities, all in one place.
Check the price and pay in the app
The app shows the price before you confirm your booking. Review the journey details and price, then use a supported payment method to pay in the app. Blacklane is committed to offering rates that are fair for both guests and chauffeurs. Our rates are inclusive and paid for in the app, so you never have to worry about having local currency on hand for a tip.
With a wide range of payment providers, you can pay securely in the app. No hidden surprises waiting for you, no price ranges (beloved of conventional taxi companies), none of the surge pricing that's common on ridesharing apps.
Optimized for air travel
When booking an airport pickup, enter your flight number so your chauffeur can track your arrival and adjust the pickup time if your flight is delayed. You can book from one hour before you need the ride to months in advance, so there’s no last-minute scrambling necessary. Key here is the app’s flight-tracking feature.
Airport pickups include one hour of complimentary waiting time. Check the pickup details in your booking so you know where to meet your chauffeur.
Rebook past trips
Frequent flyer with us? For a route you take regularly, such as the journey between home and the airport, use a previous trip as the starting point for a new booking. Check the date, time and locations before confirming the next ride.
What to expect from your Blacklane ride
Professionals who actually care
Unlike ride-hailing services, Blacklane chauffeurs drive because it’s their passion, not just a job. You’ll have an English-speaking, specially trained professional behind the wheel every time. Whether you’re booking a one-way transfer from the airport or booking your chauffeur by the hour to shuttle you between meetings, when you need to make a good impression, you’ll want a chauffeur who’s on the same page.
Choose a service class based on your needs
Review the available service classes when booking, taking into account the number of passengers and the luggage you’ll be travelling with. With Blacklane you can choose the service class that best suits your needs, including Business Class, First Class, and Business Van/SUV for groups or travelers with extra luggage.
Travel more sustainably by default
All of our classes boast a large number of electric vehicles across the global fleet, and all rides are carbon offset.
To arrange a journey, open the Blacklane app or download it from the App Store or Google Play. Check the available options for your pickup, destination and travel date before booking.
