Inside 4 of the most exclusive private members clubs in NYC

Updated: May 13, 2026

In New York City, there’s something for everyone —and for every budget. The city has plenty of family-friendly options, but also 70 Michelin-star restaurants and some of the best private clubs in the world. No one does exclusivity like New Yorkers: In the Big Apple, private clubs are art galleries, fine-dining restaurants, and top networking locations all at once.

Over the last years, private members clubs in NYC have become increasingly competitive for both applicants, and operators. The abundance of new spaces means that lounges compete on amenities and vibe, not on price or location. Today’s clubs are reaching new heights of luxury, and the sky’s the limit when it comes to the price people will pay to enjoy it for themselves.

If your knowledge of private clubs in NYC starts and ends at Soho House, this is your chance to get a peek behind the door at the most exclusive private members clubs in the city.

About The Aman Club

The Crown Building on Fifth Avenue is open to the public: Anyone can book a room at the Aman New York hotel or eat at Arva, a top fine-dining restaurant. The Aman Club, however, is reserved for high-net-worth guests only. Here you’ll find tech’s buzziest billionaires alongside A-List actors in the 25,000 square foot spa, or toasting in the wine room.

Inside The Aman Club

The Aman Club NYC opened in 2022, meaning it’s one of the city’s most modern private clubs. Members can enjoy a range of spaces: The sprawling wellness complex with a 25,000-square-foot heated indoor pool, two bars, restaurants, a cigar terrace, and even an underground jazz club.

Upstairs, the 7,000-square-foot garden terrace has some of the best views in all of New York City. Throughout the building, you’ll find clean, modern lines, verdant green planters, and classic wood panelling that lend a warmth to the state-of-the-art facilities.

This is a space that celebrates classic elegance with modern amenities. The clientele skews slightly older than some trendy NYC members clubs, but The Aman Club is where elite guests and celebrities can enjoy some privacy, or an array of relaxing spa treatments from the in-house doctors.

Why is The Aman Club so exclusive?

The Aman Club’s focus on luxury wellness and world-class dining make it an exciting choice for prospective guests. The price tag, however, tells a different story: The Aman Club is one of the most expensive private clubs in NYC, with reported annual dues of $15,00 and a $200,000 initiation fee.

Joining The Aman Club is by invitation only. Still, the waiting list for applicants is notoriously long because most members renew. Your best bet is to join one of the club’s 600 members as a guest.

About Casa Tua NYC

If you’re familiar with Casa Tua’s flagship lounge in Miami, it’ll come as no surprise that its Manhattan location is one of the most exclusive private clubs in NYC. Guests can sit back and take in the upscale mid-century furnishings, or enjoy the modern art collection. Founder Miky Grendene is known for his attention to detail when it comes to art and food, and members of the public are welcome to eat at the restaurant at Casa Tua. The private club is for members only, and it’s well worth a visit.

Inside Casa Tua NYC

Casa Tua NYC stands out for its interior design. The space is cozy but modern with stunning rosewood panelling, well-stocked bookshelves, and an expansive modern art collection. The style tends towards mid-century modern — it’s reportedly based on Grendene’s own home.

Casa Tua’s flagship lounge in Miami is known for its exclusivity. The Manhattan location is no different. Casa Tua’s intimate vibe comes at a high price: Members pay around $4,300 in annual dues, making it one of NYC’s most expensive private members clubs.

About Colette

All-day dining. Sweeping views of Central Park. An omakase bar. Colette has it all. Located on the 37th floor of the GM Building, this private coworking club is one of the most exclusive Zoom backgrounds in the world. Colette is especially popular for leaders across real estate, finance, and business, especially those passing through New York for work.

Inside Colette

Colette was designed as an upscale alternative to hotel lobbies and conference rooms, which can feel stuffy and dated. The club includes 23 private offices, conferencing desks, video conferencing hookups, and a members lounge for socializing.

Most importantly, guests are treated to VIP service courtesy of Colette’s top-tier staff and unparalleled service. Need a document printed and bound? Consider it done. A mid-meeting coffee? Just wave your hand. And when your private transfer to JFK arrives, you’ll be whisked discretely past the public and to your car with comfort and ease.

Why is Colette so exclusive?

Colette was designed for the wealthy, and it definitely delivers. Juan Santa Cruz, the restaurateur behind Colette, worked with Edmond Safra of the Safra family to build a strong hospitality concept that stood out against other coworking spaces and private member clubs in NYC. He told Bloomberg that the team researched the lives and the needs of their customer base while developing the Colette concept. The result? Bloomberg went as far as to call it “WeWork for the 0.01%.”

About Core Club NYC

Of all of NYC’s private members clubs, Core Club is the buzziest. Jennie Enterprise opened Core Club in 2005 to a worldwide network made up of the creative, curious social elite. In 2024, it moved to a 60,000-square-foot space in the former Coca-Cola building on Fifth Avenue.

Inside Core Club NYC

Core Club NYC is known for having more relaxed rules than traditional private members clubs in NYC. Instead, it prides itself on finding a culturally rich and diverse group of members from across design, arts, business, and technology.

The space is modern, eclectic, and designed for members to meet and mingle amongst themselves. The spacious club includes three Michelin-starred dining options, a 6,000-square-foot outdoor terrace, a medical spa, a 40-person screening room, and on-site hotel suites.

Why is Core Club NYC so exclusive?

The rules here are relaxed, but the guestlist is not: Core Club is often referred to as a “country club in the city”. To join Core Club, you must be nominated by an existing member. Applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis to ensure that the club’s membership remains diverse, interesting, and influential above all else.
