Dubai, United Arab Emirates - 22 March 2023 – Leading global chauffeur company Blacklane has partnered with Disaster Relief non-profit Dar Al Ber Society and pledged to donate 1AED for every 1km driven in the UAE over the next 30 days during the Holy Month of Ramadan and Eid. The donations will support communities in Syria and Turkiye who continue to be affected by the devastation of the recent earthquakes and are in line with Blacklane’s mission to create true peace of mind for a better tomorrow.
Dar Al Ber Society, a well-established charitable organisation in the UAE, has been committed to supporting Government initiatives since its inception. Within three days of the recent earthquakes, the organization dispatched 14 trucks loaded full of dry food, along with its subsequent provision of 20 tons of essential supplies. The donation from Blacklane will help to provide food and housing for young children, supporting Dar Al Ber's ongoing partnership with the UAE embassy in Syria to develop a residential compound.
“The devastating crisis in Syria and Turkiye has left families torn apart, their homes destroyed and young children without access to food. It is a heart-wrenching situation that has deeply touched the team at Blacklane Middle East. This is why we have made the decision to donate to this urgent cause,” says Nicolas Soucaille, General Manager, Blacklane, United Arab Emirates.
“We recognise that this crisis hits close to home for many UAE residents and believe that every small act of kindness can make a difference. We encourage our community to join us in making a positive impact and helping those in need by choosing Blacklane Middle East for your transportation needs this Ramadan or by making donations directly to Dar Al Ber Society,” adds Soucaille.
Dar Al Ber Society confirmed that the initiative of Blacklane to donate 1 AED for every 1 kilometre that is driven in the UAE during the blessed month of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr represents a quantum leap in relief efforts for those afflicted by the devastating earthquake in Syria and Turkiye and reflects the humanitarian and societal partnership as well as the close patriotism between charitable and humanitarian institutions and the private sector in the country.
Dr. Muhammad Suhail Al Muhairi, CEO and Managing Director of Dar Al Ber, commented that; “'Blacklane is a role model in responding to the natural disaster and its humanitarian repercussions in the two countries, and is a shining example in humanitarian work emanating from the UAE to the world, regardless of the religious, ethnic, and cultural identity of the beneficiaries,”
He stressed that this fruitful cooperation and effective partnership between Dar Al Ber and Blacklane is an honest and faithful implementation of the UAE's policy, approach, and directives of our wise leadership in the field of foreign aid. (IACAD License No. PRHCE-000993640)
